Great demands of PO in banks

Who is PO?

PO is probationary officer and is one of the most important job profiles in banking sector. Generally the job for PO is advertised for fresh graduate and person without having any prior experience in banking sector. This is an entry level job. Probationary officers during its training and probation period have to work in various departments with different work. A PO must know each and every work procedure and detail related to the bank.

Probation period- PO has to go through a training period known as probation period. Generally the duration of probation period is 2 years. During the probation period the employee is trained about each and every aspect of banking. The candidates have to work for different profiles with different work procedure. The purpose of the training period is to make employee efficient and increase his knowledge about each field of bank. Banking authorities have the right to terminate the employee during their probation period if they don’t work properly or they do not fit for the required position.

Salary of PO- Banks are giving good pay scale compared to other government department. Generally the pay scale of a probationary officer ranges from 12,000- 20,000 in starting. After successful completion of probation period, a profile is assigned to the candidate and his final salary will be decided with the level of profile.

How to prepare for PO- To get selected for the post of PO, the candidate have to go through the following basic steps. Plan your all exam strategy well before the exam date, at least 6-8 month before the exam. This will give you ample of time to prepare well fro your exam and will give you time to command on your weak topics. Practice more and more questions and find the shortest method to solve the trick questions. Be prepared for your interview and group discussion round as well. At last it is experienced in these types of exam that the candidate who is confident and take the exam with right strategy score well as compared to that candidate who is much more intelligent but not confident and confused about his preparation.
