Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune is a premier colleges of medical stream in India. It is approved by Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik and it is affliated with Medical Council of India. From past few year AFMC conducts an all-India entrance exam for admission to 130 candidates in which 105 are boys and 25 are girls into its MBBS programs. After the MBBS degree candidates have required to serve minimum for 7 years as Commissioned Officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services. |
The student parents/guardians are required to have a bond certificates during admission counsilling. Candidates who are debarded from service liability due to any specific reason will have to pay the monitory bond value as per specification compiled by Govt. of the India.
Courses Offered - AFMC
5½ Years Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).
Eligibility - AFMC
- Students must have clear the final test of 10+2 or equivalent tests with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as academic subjects.
The candidate must clear in required subjects which he/she have choosen to qualify the entrance test.
- The candidate must have obtained minimum of 60% of the average score in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together.

Besides, they should have secured minimum of 50% marks in English and 50% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

They must have also passed an exam in Mathematics in the 10th standard.

Candidate should be a citizen of India and must be unmarried. Marrying during the course is not permitted.

Candidate should be medically fit as per standards prescribed by the Ministry of Defence.

Candidates must have attained the age of 17yrs but must not have attained the age of 22 years.
Examination Pattern - AFMC
- AFMC-MBBS entrance is a single-stage test followed by an interview.

The competitive written test is of an objective type test consisting of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Intelligence, Logic & Reasoning and English Language comprehension.

The question paper consists of 200 objective questions: 50 each of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and 25 each of Intelligence, Logic & Reasoning and English Language comprehension.

All questions are of equal marks.

There is also negative marking for wrong answer.

Successful candidates in the written test are called for the interview conducted by AFMC itself.
Syllabus - AFMC
There is no prescribed syllabus for AFMC-MBBS entrance exam. However, the basic standard of the entrance exam will be that of 11th and 12th standard under the 10+2 scheme/equivalent examinations. Generally the paper consists of the following sections having an extensive coverage.
