Karnataka CET Medical Entrance Exam

Government of Karnataka conducts every year an entry exam for the candidates, known as Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) for admission to different professional programmes in affiliated colleges/universities/institutes in the state of Karnataka. Karnataka Exam Authority, Bangalore is the conducting authority for KCET from the past few years.

Exam Pattern- Karnataka CET

The students must follows the following exam pattern to clear Karnataka CET. The candidate should also practice the previous year papers to become familier with exam pattern and time duration.

Biology
Mathematics
Physics
Chemistry

* Each section consists of objective questions with multiple options. Although, no marks are deducted for wrong answer but the candidates are required to mark single answer against a question as more than one answer indicated against a question will be considered as wrong answer.
* The test is schedule for two days. First day, Mathematic and Biology paper is conducted and on the second day, the candidates are tested on their physics and chemistry knowledge. Each paper consists of 60 marks and is of 80 minutes of duration.
* The candidates seeking admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses have to appear for Physics, Chemistry and Biology papers in the KCET while the candidates, who are looking for admission into Engineering / Technology courses have to appear for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics papers in the KCET.
* For admission to Architecture course, the candidates need not appear in KCET as they are required to appear in NATA.
