Andhra Pradesh Police is the law enforcement Agency for the state of Andhra Pradesh that was formed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. This agency was started in 1956 having its Headquarters in Hyderabad. The Director General of Police or DGP is the head of the police department.

The Andhra Pradesh government in 1986 constituted the State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) with a senior officer of the rank of Addl DGP / DGP as the Chairman.

The Recruitment Board of AP Police invites application from the Indian nationals for the various required post for the organization of AP Police every year. All the male and females candidates are free to apply and are eligible for the recruitment examination. The candidates have to go through different levels of examination related to Preliminary selection test, Physical Efficiency Test, Written test and at last shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.

Candidates applying for any Post should be between 21-30 years of age.

The Candidate must read the rules and instruction of Eligibility process before applying for the recruitment. The written tests are held in specified test centres and the candidates who are called to write the tests are given admit cards.
In written test the knowledge about basic subjects, aptitude for this kind of exacting job, attitude towards any kind of situation and knowledge about current affairs are generally measured.
